Very friendly convo with Mac on the release of his Portastatic retrospective set. I liked this bit, even though it makes me feel old (and nostalgic for those years right before I moved to Chicago when I hung out with Josh and his still-pregnant wife): "I remember I was emailing back and forth with Josh [Presseisen] from that band Marumari, and they had just had a kid. And I remember before saying, 'How do you even have time?' He said something to the effect of, 'Well, actually, you get a lot more productive because you have to be.' And it's true. If you know that you only have three or four hours to work on this specific day and you have a lot of stuff you want to get down, you can't fuck around."

The new $180 "Lime Green" David Lynch DVD box set will, from the mouth of the man himself, contain "32 scenes never seen before from Wild at Heart," as well as a bunch of goofy fake commercials he did in the 60s and whatnot. But man, still no FWWM scenes.

Holy shit, the best thing about the new MTV Music site isn't just the plethora of videos (though there are several pleasant surprises archived there) — it's source captured old live stuff like this super-slow version of Stop Breathin that was the sole reason I've kept one particular VHS tape around for the past 15 years.

Oh fun, BTS singing their old classic Ca– wait, is this M.I.A.? Actually works very well as a trademark Martsch wanky guitar jam!
